This drain line is in a house in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.  Notice the bricks supporting the pipe.  Also notice the pipe slant up before it slants down.

All pipes should be supported by proper supports.  Vibrations in the pipe will eventually wear a hole in the pipe where it sits on the brick.  Drain lines should also maintain a constant downhill slant to prevent solid materials from settling and clogging the pipe.
